Just kidding…nothing’s changed, for me anyways. It’s that time of year again: time to reflect on this past year, or in this particular year: the past decade. Reviews of music, movies, politics, news, yada yada yada of this past decade are all over the internet; They have just about every category you can think of. It’s fun to read and to remember exactly where you were or what you were doing or even feeling when certain songs or movies came out or certain news happened. Memories are that powerful. I’m sure wishes and thank you notes are everywhere (A bunch on facebook…mass tag photos). It’s nice and all but every one of them is pretty much the same. Technology is to blame…you don’t need to write 100 notes or cards or whatever, all you need is a social network, or email, then you write about feelings and such deep from your heart, a few more clicks and bam, every one of your friends received your note. Then they write you back and then your friends write something and send it to all of their friends and bla bla bla…you end up with many wishes and thank you notes that are the same…in essence. Problem is for many people, they send it to everyone…even people who they barely talk to or know. What’s the meaning in that? Out of kindness? Convenience? In any case, these messages should only be to those who truly matter to you and those who you truly care about. Happy New Year.
